HLTINFCOV001 – Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures

Course Description This course provides the skills and knowledge required to follow organizational infection prevention and control procedures, including implementing standard and transmission-based precautions and responding to infection risks.

The course covers topics such as:

  • Follow standard and additional precautions for infection prevention and control
  • Identify infection hazards and assess risks
  • Follow procedures for managing risks associated with specific hazards

This course applies to individuals working in health and direct client care contexts.

This course required observation of some assessment tasks in the workplace setting.

Pre-training reading is required prior to the commencement of the training session (approximately 2-3 hours)

Certificate on Completion Learners completing assessment requirements for this course will be awarded a Statement of Attainment.

All students will be required to provide their Unique Student Identifier (USI) before a Statement of Attainment can be issued, unless an exemption applies under the Student Identifiers Act 2014. It is a government requirement that all students undergoing VET training in Australia apply for and hold a USI.
